Weekend Road Work Planned on PVDN

Crews will be repaving part of Palos Verdes Drive North as part of the bike lane project this weekend.

Drivers on the Palos Verdes Peninsula should expect road closures on Palos Verdes Drive North in Rolling Hills Estates this weekend, according to a notice from the city of Rolling Hills Estates.

Work on the Palos Verdes Drive North Bike Lane project is moving into the final stages, according to the city, which involve resurfacing the street between Ponderosa Lane and Crenshaw Boulevard.

The first phase of street grinding and asphalt paving will occur between Ponderosa Lane and Silver Spur Road from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Traffic will be open in only one direction during those hours.

Crews will pave the westbound lanes first. When those are finished, they will be reopened while the eastbound lanes are closed.

"Access will be limited during certain times," according to the city. "Please observe all detour signs and flaggers' directions."

The project's second phase, which extends from Silver Spur Road to Moccasin lane, will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 17-18, and the third phase extending from Moccasin Lane to Crenshaw Boulevard is scheduled for Aug. 24-25 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Anyone with questions or concerns should contact the Excel Paving Dispatch Department at 562-599-5841 ext. 250 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
