PV High Student Off to College Before Senior Year
Jonathan Williams will get an early start in college at Bard College at Simon's Rock.
One Palos Verdes High School student isn't waiting for graduation to start college.
Jonathan Williams, 17, is off to Bard College at Simon's Rock in Massachusetts this fall, according to a news release from readMedia. Williams just finished his 11th-grade year at PV High.
"Williams's academic and personal achievements secured him a spot at Simon's Rock," a representative for the college wrote in a news release.
Bard College at Simon's Rock focuses on "early college," meaning its students normally start before they've completed the traditional four years of high school. While students do not earn high school diplomas from Bard College, they are welcome to take the GED exam or work with their high schools to count credits earned at Bard toward a high school diploma.
It wasn't immediately clear whether Williams would be transferring his credits.
