Marymount College Sees Revitalization

Once solely a school with two-year programs, Marymount College is expanding to include four-year degrees and graduate programs.

Marymount College in Rancho Palos Verdes has gone through a revitalization over the past several years, according to an article in last weekend's Daily Breeze.

The college, which will become Marymount California University on Aug. 1, honored a graduating class of 139 on Saturday; right now, a record-high 1,000 students attend the school—double the number that attended in the 2009-2010 school year.

Since the school nearly closed three years ago, it has begun to offer bachelor's degrees, more athletic programs and graduate programs this fall. The school is also working to establish a campus in San Pedro, and another in Northern California.
