Incumbents Coast to Victory in RPV, RHE

Anthony Misetich and Brian Campbell win re-election in Rancho Palos Verdes, while Councilman Steve Zuckerman and Britt Huff win in Rolling Hills Estates.

The candidates who took early leads in the race for city council in Rancho Palos Verdes and Rolling Hills Estates held on to those leads throughout the night for decisive victories.

In Rancho Palos Verdes, incumbents Anthony Misetich and Brian Campbell were comfortably elected with 35.8 percent and 34.5 percent of the vote, respectively—only 88 votes separated the two. Dyda received the remaining 29.7 percent.

"I am honored to be the top vote-getter in each of my two elections to the City Council," Misetich wrote in a statement on Facebook. "We ran a positive campaign about common-sense and consensus building."

About 24 percent of the 28,367 registered voters in Rancho Palos Verdes participated in the election.

Rolling Hills Estates Councilman Steve Zuckerman also coasted to re-election with 30.6 percent of the vote, while planning commissioner Britt Huff won the second seat on the RHE City Council with 35.4 percent of the vote.

Businesswoman Cat Spydell earned 22.3 percent, and Clark Davis earned 11.8 percent.

About 28 percent of Rolling Hills Estates' 5,894 voters turned out for the election.

These results are semi-official; they must be certified by the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder before they are official.
