ABOUT TOXIC POLLUTION
Thanks for the warning!
The question is: What are we going to do about it?
We…Read More are the taxpayers for this project that could kill us, a project we don't want.
Are we going to take this laying down? It's easy to throw our hands up and say: There is nothing we can do. Let's see, who out there has a media connection? Then let's alert the media! Let's make our voice heard NATIONALLY! Let's make a stink about it! But we must unite in forces. Are you guys willing to do that? We should have the right to die peaceful, from a very old age rather than being tragically mowed down by the largest source of carcinogenic, toxic, diesel pollution in the dirtiest air basin in the USA. This is scandalous! Are you ready to fight? I am!

Not to mention cancer, COPD, asthma, low birth weight, and numerous other health "end…Read More points", all connected to freeway air pollution by peer reviewed scientific studies.
And meanwhile the Port of Los Angeles last week "certifies" the so-called "Environmental Impact Report" for a giant rail yard in east Wilmington which will only make things worse. Meanwhile repeating the big lie that it will lessen truck traffic on the 710 Freeway.
And Caltrans goes forward with it's "Environmental Impact Report" for widening the same 710 to 7 lanes in each direction including 2 truck only lanes in each direction, which leads one to believe that they are expecting more truck trips, not less. All to result from the huge growth they predict for the diesel pollution spewing ports. And at a budget of several BILLION dollars to be funded by the taxpayers.
The ports make great public relations hay out of cleaning up some of their equipment. The conveniently neglect to mention that they only did it when they were forced to do so by litigation from the community. And even so they remain the largest source of carcinogenic, toxic, diesel pollution in the dirtiest air basin in the USA. And all of this projected growth will only make it worse.
It all puts me in the mind The old country Joe and the Fish song, "Talkin' Vietnam Blues":
"Ain't got time to wonder why, whoopee we're all gonna die!"

No Comment Trolls, thanks for bringing clarity...you are absolutely correct. I just need to let…Read More these provocative and baseless comments go, so I will not respond any further...it is pointless to attempt a dialogue with posters unwilling to look at both sides of an issue.

Well JustUs, I am disappointed you have to resort to name calling and childish reactions to my…Read More comment. I find it interesting that you and your cohorts in conspiracy cannot even imagine a scenario where Dorner was actually guilty of what he was accused of while employed with LAPD. Why would you automatically assume he was wronged by LAPD?...because of a rambling Manifesto or his violent actions to "cure" his perceived wrongs? I would be the first to expect remedial action if there was one iota of proof that this was a set-up. Do you or anyone else commenting on this have a shred of proof that Dorner was wrongly terminated from his job? I guess if a situation involves the police or police activity, the assumption is that the police will take actions in to their own hands and then cover it up. With that as a starting point, it makes any rational discussion quite difficult.
By the way, I have a college degree, so I would hope that my reading comprehension is better than a 2nd grade level.

Paul in SB;
Feel free to ignore posters like JustUs - most productive readers do. They repeat…Read More principally the same comment ad nauseam and mistakenly believes her/his opinions are facts, which are then supported by spurious logic and personal insults. Commenters like these are largely patsies of our new e-media who only try to fan the flames of controversy in order to drive up their page visits and in turn charge greater ad fees.
