Since the completeion of the chapel's construction in 1951, the Wayfarers Chapel has been one of the most popular and famous places for Rancho Palos Verdes residents (and tourists) to get married. It is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.

The Chapel is a national memorial to the Swedish scientist, statesman and theologian Emanuel Swedenborg who died in 1772. The gardens are a place to pray, meditate and seek spiritual renewal. Wedding reservations may be made in person or by phone.

The chapel was designed by Lloyd Wright, son of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. His inspiration for the design came after a trip through the Redwood Forests shortly after World War II. The trees, the setting and the ocean below provides a sacred setting uniting nature to celebrate God's presence.

Same gender couples are invited to seal their marriage vows here and honor the commitment made to each other.

The Visitors' Center has a large selection of Swedenbogian items for sale that describe his philosophy, such as jewelry, crystal, books and more.
