The Point Vicente Interpretive Center is a beautiful park and museum located next to the Point Vicente Lighthouse. It is open to the public and offers recreational and educational opportunities to the young and old alike. Opened in 1984, the objective was to help present part of the history of Palos Verdes Peninsula to the public. It has almost 10,000 square feet and features exhibits about the natural history of Palos Verdes Peninsula. One of the exhibits is about the gray whale and their migration from December through April, which passes the peninsula. The tours inside the Center are led by trained volunteers. There are picnic tables in the park portion of the Center, but fires and barbecues are not allowed. Dogs are also welcome, but must be on a leash.
