Weekend Road Work Planned at Crenshaw, Lomita Boulevards

A road improvements and resurfacing project will result in lane closures at Crenshaw and Lomita boulevards.

Drivers heading into Torrance should expect "significant traffic delays" near the intersection of Lomita and Crenshaw boulevards this weekend, according to an alert from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lomita Station.

The cities of Torrance and Lomita will be continuing their joint road improvements and resurfacing project at the intersection, which will be partially closed from 6:30 p.m. Saturday through Sunday.

Deputies did not say what time the road work would end Sunday.

"Lomita Boulevard will be completely shut down to traffic at Crenshaw (Boulevard)," according to the alert. "Westbound traffic will be diverted at Pennsylvania Avenue in Lomita. Eastbound traffic will be diverted at Garnier Street in Torrance."

One lane in each direction of Crenshaw Boulevard will be open to through traffic over the weekend, and drivers will not be allowed to turn onto Lomita Boulevard.

Deputies advise that drivers use alternate routes.
