Road Closures for PV Half Marathon, 5K

Some streets in Rancho Palos Verdes and Palos Verdes Estates will be closed at 7 a.m. Saturday due to the Palos Verdes 5K and Half-Marathon, area law enforcement agencies announced Friday afternoon.

In Rancho Palos Verdes, there will only be one lane open on Palos Verdes Drive South and Palos Verdes Drive West between Hawthorne Boulevard and Peppertree Drive, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lomita Station.

Vehicles will be escorted through the closure area in alternating directions, according to the LASD. Deputies will be at all intersections to ensure runner safety, and delays in excess of 30 minutes for vehicle traffic should be expected.

The route enters Palos Verdes Estates via Palos Verdes Drive West from the south. It runs west on Paseo Lunado, south on Via Pacheco, west on Paseo Del Mar, east on Paseo Lunado, north of Via Anacapa, west on Paseo Lunado and north on Paseo Del Mar through the 1300 block. The run will continue south on Palos Verdes Drive West. All these roads will be closed.

All motorists are advised to avoid the area. Those who live in the neighborhoods affected by the road closures should be patient and follow the instructions of law enforcement personnel at traffic control points.
