The Peninsula Boys JV Basketball Team is back in action, and this past week they participated in the Westchester Tip-Off Tournament.
The opening opponent for the newly re-vamped Panthers was Santa Monica High School. This was the first game for the Panthers, and their early jitters were understandable due to the addition of nine new players from last season's team.
The chemistry and style of play that the Panthers enjoyed last season is still a work in progress, and this season the Panthers hope to make up for their lack of height with heart and hustle.
The Panthers battled the entire game and came away with a hard fought victory over Santa Monica HS 49-46.
Kurt Milch was the leading scorer in this contest netting 11 points, followed by Donte Buchanon with 8. All but three of the 14 members of the team scored in this first game.
