The Peninsula Panthers score a semifinal win against Laces!

On Thursday night the Peninsula Panthers traveled to El Segundo High School to take on Laces in the semifinal round of the El Segundo Tournament. Laces defeated El Segundo 56-54 to reach the semi-final round.

The game began with each team playing sloppy and missing easy shots. The Panthers took a quick time-out and it seemed to be the remedy. The Panthers went on to out score Laces 21-3 to end the 1st quarter. The Panthers continued their high intensity full court pressure and led at halftime 40-5. The Panthers continued in the 3rd quarter and pushed the lead to 62-13.

The Panthers went on to win the game 70-17 and earned a spot in the Championship game tonight at 7:30 PM at El Segundo High School. The Panthers will be facing Crenshaw High School, who defeated Palos Verdes. The Panthers were led by Juniors Donte Buchanon with 15 points, Cameron Tong with 11 points, sophomores Kurt Milch and Grey Goodman also contributed 8 points each, 13 of 14 of the Panthers scored in this game.

It was a total team effort and the Panthers are showing improvement with every game. The game versus Crenshaw will be the last game for the Panthers before the Bay League starts next Tuesday.
