RPV Resident Takes Third Place in Redondo 5K

Despite pouring rain and strong winds on Saturday morning, about 850 competitors showed up for the sponsored by in Riviera Village.

Competitors—who primarily came from the South Bay, though some came as far away as Minneapolis, Minn.—ranged in age from 5 years old to 81 years old.

Redondo Beach resident Nathalie Higley took home first place in the women's division and sixth place overall with a time of 17:31:1. She was followed 10 seconds later by Torrance resident Cambria Wu (ninth overall) and nearly two minutes later by Manhattan Beach resident Katie Myers (16th overall).

Christian Hesch of Hollywood finished first overall with a time of 15:57:6; Luis De La Vega of San Diego finished second with a time of 16:14:6; and Peter Cohen of Rancho Palos Verdes finished third with a time of 16:26:2.
