Free "Youth Sports Awareness Day" at PV High

The first annual Youth Sports Health Awareness Day will be held on Saturday, March 10 at Palos Verdes High School (MPR) from 10:30 a.m to 12:00 p.m. The free event is being sponsored by Las Niñas de Las Madrecitas, Palos Verdes High School, and Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital. Two Palos Verdes High School students and Las Niñas members, Ellie D'Ambra and  Bryanna Merda, have made it their mission to bring Sports Health Awareness to the young athletes living in the South Bay.

At Youth Sports Awareness Day, Los Angeles Orthopedic Hospital physicians Richard Bowen, M.D., FAAOS and Dr. Cindy Bailey, DPT, are scheduled to speak on sports injury prevention and increased performance through the use of correct stretching, hydration, and nutrition. Young athletes will learn more about how to keep their bodies healthy and working at top performance level, and will be able to incorporate physicians’ recommendations into their daily sports activities.
