Ernie Howlett Hosts Portuguese Bend Horse Show

The three-day event features accomplished equestrians and benefits Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

The Portuguese Bend National Horse show brought some of the West Coast's best riders to Ernie Howlett Park in Rolling Hills Estates for three days of competition last weekend.

Now in its 54th year, the show is presented as a way to raise money for the Clinical Imaging Research and Technology Project at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. To date, the event has raised more than $11 million for the hospital.

The show's biggest events were the Pacific Coast Horse Association Medal Finals, won by Olivia Champ, and the $10,000 Seahorse Jumper Classic, won by Grace Shelton aboard Friponnier II CH.
