PVPUSD Hires 3 New Principals

New principals are hired for Montemalaga, Silver Spur and Rancho Vista elementary schools in the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District

Three new principals have been hired to replace the outgoing principals of Montemalaga, Silver Spur and Rancho Vista elementary schools in the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District, Superintendent Walker Williams announced Friday in a news release posted on the school district's website.

Rebecca Egan, Jane Tasker and William "Bill" MacDonald will replace Patti Stewart at Montemalaga, Meriam Wilhelm at Silver Spur and Debra Loob at Rancho Vista, respectively. The three departing principals accepted an early retirement package.

The new principals will start July 1.

A fourth principal—Patricia Vincent at Vista Grande—also took advantage of early retirement; PVPUSD hopes to announce her replacement shortly, according to the Palos Verdes Peninsula News.

Engan, a 15-year veteran of PVPUSD, has worked as an English teacher, associate principal of Palos Verdes High School and Palos Verdes Intermediate School, and as a district administrator.

Tasker is an import from Torrance Unified School District, where she was most recently the principal of Arnold Elementary School.

Enrolled in a USC doctoral program, MacDonald lives in the South Bay. He was most recently principal of J.H. McGaugh Elementary School in Seal Beach.

The school district is also looking to replace Palos Verdes High School principal Nick Stephany, who announced in May that he had accepted a position with another school district, as well as two other administrators who took the early retirement incentive.
