PVPUSD Asks: What Do You Want in Your Next Superintendent?

Two public forums and an online survey are available to voice your opinion. And of course, there's always the comment section below.

What kind of superintendent do you want for Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified?

Walker Williams announced his retirement in September, and he won't be leaving until June 2015, but already, district officials are launching the search.

And it starts by gauging what the community wants in its next K-12 educational leader.

The district has hired The Cosca Group search firm, which plans two public forums to get your input. They are:

  • 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014 in the board boom of the Malaga Cove Administrative offices, 375 Via Almar, Palos Verdes Estates
  • 6:40 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014 at in the board room of the Malaga Cove Administrative offices
"The Board of Education would like to hear from you regarding the strengths of our district, its needs and critical issues, and the type of leadership you want from the next superintendent," says a district press release. "All members of the community, including parents, interested citizens, students, elected officials, public employees, etc. are invited to speak on the qualities and characteristics of the next superintendent."

For the next week, an online survey is also available to community members. You can find it here.

Also from the press release:

All comments will be compiled to form a matrix defining those characteristics valued by the community. Input from the forums is very much appreciated and will help guide Board of Education members as they recruit and select the next superintendent.
