Dapplegray Elementary to Celebrate Arts

The Rolling Hills Estates school will hold an 'Arts Alive' event Friday to give students a firsthand look at careers in the arts.

From jewelery design to video production, students will explore different careers in the arts during an event Friday at the Rolling Hills Estates school.

Local artists will speak to students about their careers at the "Arts Alive" event. The artists will also show off some of their work in school hallways as part of an "art walk."

"This is such a wonderful opportunity for our students to gain first hand knowledge about the lives of artists and their work," Dapplegray Principal Fred London said in a statement. "There is so much more to an education than the 'three R's,' and this gives all of us at Dapplegray the chance to connect with the artists in our community and experience the brilliant works of these talented individuals. The kids have a great time meeting the artists, doing hands-on projects, and watching art come to life."
