Trash Rates, City Stables on Rolling Hills Estates Agenda

Rolling Hills Estates City Council members will weigh an increase in trash rates and discuss improvements at Peter Weber during tonight's meeting.

Trash rates

An increase in trash rates for Fiscal Year 2012-13 will also be considered by the Council.

If approved by Council members, residents would see an average increase of 2.65 percent on residential rates.

Waste Management's proposed rate adjustment would increase residential manure rates 2.37 percent; commercial manure rates 2.29 percent; and commercial and multi-family bin rates 2.38 percent.

City stables

Council members are likely to move forward with plans to improve the by considering a staff recommendation to solicit firm proposals for the construction of a new barn, temporary pipe corrals, a restroom building and storage structure for manure collection, hay and shavings.

A recommendation would be given to the Council in July and a contract that outlines the service would be presented in August.
