Mountain Bikers Gain More Access to Trails (No. 8)

Mountain bikers who enjoy riding the trails in the Palos Verdes Nature Preserve scored a victory in early October when the Rancho Palos Verdes City Council unanimously approved the majority of a staff recommendation to open additional trails to cyclists.

The move was opposed by many equestrians and hikers, who argued that mountain bikers speeding down narrow trails pose a safety hazard. Nevertheless, others said equestrians, bikers and hikers should share the trails equally.
