San Ramon Canyon, Portuguese Bend Landslide Top City List of Priorities

Rancho Palos Verdes City Council members will discuss goals for the city during tonight's meeting.

The stabilization of San Ramon Canyon, where serious erosion has potential to cause irreparable damage to the area, in addition to other infrastructure fixes, tops a list of priorities Rancho Palos Verdes City Council members are set to discuss tonight.

They'll weigh goals and priorities brought up at , where a total of 66 goals were identified.

Council members will determine which goals are most important to the city, from those related to infrastructure, finance, public safety and other areas.

Projects such as San Ramon Canyon stabilization and the Portuguese Bend landslide were identified as high priority and short term goals for at least three council members.

That list also includes Palos Verdes Drive East safety; increase of citizen involvement in infrastructure goal-setting and planning; infrastructure funding; full transparency of financial information; improvements to organizational efficiency; the review of existing contracts/consultants; forging a closer relationship with the ; a focus on crime prevention; and other issues.
