RPV to Seek Public Comment on Dog, Skate Parks

The city schedules meetings to get feedback on the two proposed parks from Palos Verdes residents.

As Rancho Palos Verdes officials consider possible locations for dog and skate parks on the Peninsula, meetings have been scheduled to gather feedback from the community regarding the two potential parks.

On Jan. 14, a meeting will be held for local skateboarders to share their ideas for the park. A community workshop for both the dog and skate parks will be held March 10 to get public feedback on the projects and potential locations.

The city is working with consultant Mia Lehrer & Associates to look into location possibilities and analysis for both parks. At a , council members approved an agreement with the firm for the outreach and analysis.

The is scheduled to review site analysis criteria at its Dec. 20 meeting. That criteria will be used to choose the best locations for each park. A final site analysis study is set to be presented to the council in the spring.

Skatepark PV, a local nonprofit organization, has asked the city for help in bringing a skate park to the Peninsula. An was held in November at Zask Gallery.
