RPV Gets Grant for Abalone Cove Improvements

Proposed improvements include new trails, picnic areas and a play area at the Rancho Palos Verdes park.

A Rancho Palos Verdes project that could bring new trails, picnic areas and landscaping to recently received a boost from the state as the city learned this week it had been awarded a grant for the project in the amount of $310,830.

The state Office of Grants and Local Services announced Wednesday the city would receive the grant for the park project.

The city applied for grant funding under the Land and Water Conservation Fund Program in November 2010. In August, OGALS told city staff that it recommended grant approval to the National Park Service.
