Rolling Hills Appoints New City Manager

Raymond Cruz will begin his duties as city manager Nov. 18.

The Rolling Hills City Council on Monday night appointed a new city manager: Raymond Cruz, the community services director for the city of Carson, according to the Daily Breeze.

Former Rolling Hills City Manager Tony Dahlerbruch left in May to take the same position in the city of Palos Verdes Estates. Since then, former Hermosa Beach City Manager Steve Burrell has served as the interim city manager for the gated city.

According to the employment agreement posted online, Cruz will begin his new duties Nov. 18. He will be paid $165,000 annually, in addition to a $60 monthly reimbursement for his cellphone, as well as other reimbursements for work-related expenses.

Cruz, who has a bachelor's degree in political science from UC Riverside and a master's in public administration from USC, has more than two decades of experience in city government, according to the Breeze.
