RHE Council to Discuss Skateboarding Event, Holiday Parade

The Rolling Hills Estates City Council will consider an upcoming skateboarding event, in addition to management for an annual holiday parade at tonight's meeting.

A special skateboarding event on the Peninsula will be discussed during tonight's meeting, in addition to management for the Peninsula's annual holiday parade.

The Council will consider approving Skatepark PV's request to hold a skateboarding event during a "Skate the Hill" session 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 20. at Ernie Howlett Park, 25851 Hawthorne Blvd. in Rolling Hills Estates.

Skatepark PV will hold the event in hopes of gaining support for the on the Peninsula.

The event will feature local skate team performances, ramps, rails and food trucks.

The City Council will also look ahead to the holidays as it puts managements plans in place for the 13th Annual Peninsula Holiday Parade. Council will consider entering into an agreement with Pageantry Productions to provide parade management services for the parade on Dec. 3.

The proposed fee for Pageantry Productions management has increased from $7,223.76 in 2010, to $7,621.25 this year.
