The Rolling Hills Estates Park and Activities Commission at its meeting tonight will consider a request from the Ranchview Homeowners Association for the construction of a new public park.

The creation of a new public park in Rolling Hills Estates will be discussed during the city's Park and Activities Commission meeting tonight after a request for the park was made by the Ranchview Homeowners Association.

The proposed quarter-acre park would be located on land near Palos Verdes Drive North adjacent to the Ranchview HOA street entryway at Ranchview Road (view a map of the proposed location in this article's photo gallery).

The Commission will consider recommending that the approve the use of funds set aside for park beautification and recreational projects to conduct a boundary survey of the proposed park site.

At a previous meeting, the Ranchview HOA voted to have the city complete a survey of the site to verify boundary lines of private and public property, in addition to the size of the site.

Potential park features include benches, picnic tables, fencing, and a bridle trail that would connect the Ranchview HOA residents along Ranchview Road to the Ranchview Trail.
