PVE to Discuss New City Manager at Special Meeting

The closed session meeting has been scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.

The Palos Verdes Estates City Council will hold a special meeting Tuesday afternoon at the Palos Verdes Golf Club to conduct closed session discussions regarding a new city manager.

Meeting sessions that are closed to the public are allowed under the Brown Act—California's open meetings law—if personnel matters are being discussed.

The three items on Tuesday's closed session agenda concern a city manager. Former Chief of Police Dan Dreiling is currently serving as the interim city manager. He was appointed to the post after former City Manager Judy Smith stepped down last year to move to Orange County.

Correction: The original version of the story misidentified former Police Chief Dan Dreiling as Don Dreiling. It has been fixed in the text above. We regret the error.
