PVE to Demolish Homes in Bluff Cove

The Palos Verdes Estates homes sit atop the Bluff Cove landslide.

The city of Palos Verdes Estates will demolish the homes it owns in Bluff Cove, according to a report in the Palos Verdes Peninsula News.

Palos Verdes Estates has owned the seven homes since the 1980s, and until late last year, housed city officials in them; however, they sit atop an active landslide, according to the News. The city council decided that at more than $150,000 to determine mitigation measures, it was too expensive to try to preserve the houses.

After the homes are demolished, the land may stay as open space parkland, the News reported.
