Filing Period Opens for RPV, RHE Elections

The cities of Rancho Palos Verdes and Rolling Hills Estates will have elections Nov. 5.

The filing period for the November municipal elections in the cities of Rancho Palos Verdes and Rolling Hills Estates begins Monday.

In each city, there are two seats up for re-election. Councilmen Bryan Campbell and Anthony Misetich have both expressed their intention to run for re-election to Rancho Palos Verdes City Council.

In Rolling Hills Estates, seats held by Susan Seaman and Steve Zuckerman are up for re-election.

The filing period in both cities will close Aug. 9; however, if an incumbent does not file for re-election in either city, that city's nomination period will close Aug. 14.

To run for city council in Rancho Palos Verdes and Rolling Hills Estates, candidates must be residents of their respective cities.

Council members for both cities are elected at-large, meaning that each council member represents the entire city.

Papers can be pulled and filed at the cities' respective clerk's offices. Rancho Palos Verdes City Hall is located at 30940 Hawthorne Blvd.; Rolling Hills Estates' City Hall is located at 4045 Palos Verdes Drive North.

Three seats on the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District Board of Education and two seats on the Palos Verdes Library District Board of Directors will also be up for election on Nov. 5.
