Cleanup Plans to be Presented by Montrose Program

A public meeting will be held Wednesday at Point Vicente Interpretive Center.

Plans to restore natural resources harmed by DDT and PCB contamination off the Palos Verdes Peninsula will be presented Wednesday by the Montrose Settlements Restoration Program, the group responsible for cleaning up affected areas along Los Angeles and Orange County coasts.

The meeting at will address restoration completed during the past decade, involving bald eagles, Peregrine
falcons, sea birds and the local fishing habitat.

Habitats were destroyed by DDT residue flushed for decades into the ocean from the Montrose Chemical Company's factory by way of a county sewage plant's dumping into the ocean.
