City to Swear In New RPV Council Members Tonight

Susan Brooks, Jerry Duhovic and Jim Knight will be sworn in during tonight's Rancho Palos Verdes City Council meeting.

Three new members of the will be sworn in tonight after an election in which eight candidates vied for the open seats left Susan Brooks, Jerry Duhovic and Jim Knight on top.

The three will replace Mayor Tom Long, in addition to council members Doug Stern and Stefan Wolowicz, who are termed out.

In November, former councilwoman and congressional candidate Brooks , while finance advisory committee member Duhovic and planning commissioner Knight earned the remaining spots.

Other candidates were planning commissioner Dave Emenhiser, former councilman Ken Dyda, school board President Dora de la Rosa, small business owner and teacher Eric Alegria, and Cynthia Smith.

The council will also select a new mayor and mayor pro tem.
