Candidates for Rancho Palos Verdes City Council and the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District Board of Education have campaign events scheduled in the coming days.

With the local election season in full swing, Palos Verdes candidates have scheduled multiple campaign events that are open to residents.  

Here's an overview of events in the coming days for and Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District Board of Education :

Dave Emenhiser, candidate for RPV City Council

  • From 3:30 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Emenhiser will attend an ice cream social at Rolling Hills Rivera Homeowners Association.
  • From 2-5 p.m. Sunday, a coffee will be held at the home of Victoria Thurlow and Claudio Luchina, at 28203 Ella Road. RSVP to info@DaveEmenhiser.com or 424-400-4176.

Jim Knight, candidate for RPV City Council

  • From 3:30 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Knight will attend an ice cream social at the Eastview Homeowners Association, at the corner of Veles and Montereina.
  • From 2-4 p.m. Sept. 28, Knight will attend a reception at the home of Ruth Bescoby, 19 Surry Ln. RSVP to

Jerry Duhovic, candidate for RPV City Council

Erin LaMonte, candidate for PVPUSD School Board

Larry Vanden Bos, candidate for PVPUSD School Board

  • At 7 p.m. Monday, Vanden Bos will attend a coffee hosted by Linda Perry and Jeanette VanAmburgh, at 1804 Paseo del Mar in Palos Verdes Estates. RSVP to unclebillspancakehouse@cox.net.

Candidates for the open Rancho Palos Verdes Council seats are Eric Alegria, small business owner and teacher; Susan Brooks, former Rancho Palos Verdes mayor; Ken Dyda, former Rancho Palos Verdes mayor; Emenhiser, current Rancho Palos Verdes planning commissioner; Dora de la Rosa, current PVPUSD Board of Education president; Knight, current Rancho Palos Verdes planning commissioner; Duhovic, current vice chair of the RPV Finance Advisory Committee; and Cynthia Smith.

On the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District Board of Education, incumbent Vanden Bos, of Rolling Hills Estates, will be challenged by Dianna Chooljian, of Palos Verdes, and LaMonte, of Rancho Palos Verdes.
