As RPV Considers Dog Beach, Lawndale Gets Dog Park

The recently opened park has separate areas for large and small dogs, The Daily Breeze reports.

As the city of Rancho Palos Verdes considers turning Rancho Palos Verdes Beach into an off-leash dog beach, other neighborhoods are welcoming pooches to their very own parks.

The city of Lawndale on Saturday celebrated the grand opening of its nearly one-acre dog park, located at 14725 Larch Ave., The Daily Breeze reported.

The Lawndale park boasts separate areas for large and small dogs.

Other South Bay cities with dog parks include Redondo Beach, El Segundo and San Pedro, according to the report.

Rancho Palos Verdes City Council members toward a dog beach pilot program and officials are now considering potential ideas, including fencing the beach for non-dog areas, various permits for dog owners to ensure safe use and scheduling off-leash times.
