Photos: RPV Brush Fire Scorches Canyon

A look at the aftermath of a brush fire that broke out Monday night in Rancho Palos Verdes.

A blaze that broke out Monday night burned through more than 15 acres of land in Rancho Palos Verdes, leaving a visible mark on the area by Tuesday.

The brush fire before it was fully contained by 11:40 p.m., according to Los Angeles County Fire Department officials.

Crews were still cleaning up at the scene Tuesday morning. As of Tuesday, the cause of the fire was still under investigation.

The fire was reported about 7 p.m. Monday in the 6000 block of Chartres Drive, according to a fire department dispatcher.

No homes were threatened and no evacuations were reported.

About 100 firefighters and three helicopters were used to battle the blaze, according to the fire department.
