RPV Blotter: Baby Formula, Hair Straighteners Stolen

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lomita Station supplied this information on crime in Rancho Palos Verdes.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lomita Station reported the following crimes and arrests in Rancho Palos Verdes for the week spanning Nov. 3-9.

Two people were arrested on suspicion of grand theft auto, while another person was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Grand theft auto

Nov. 5, 1:12 p.m.; 29600 block of Western Avenue
Two people were arrested on suspicion of stealing a gray 2007 four-door Lexus 250 and a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle. Both vehicles were recovered.

Burglary and grand theft

Nov. 7, 5:45 p.m.; 2800 block of Via el Miro
A burglar slipped into a home through an ajar bathroom window and stole a 42-inch Sony Bravia television and a key to a white 1998 two-door Chevrolet Camaro. The thief also stole the Camaro.

Burglary

Nov. 9, 2:36 p.m.; 28900 block of Western Avenue
Two hair straighteners and a shirt were stolen from an open business. Police arrested one suspect.

Petty theft

Nov. 7; 26500 block of Silver Spur Road
A small wooden mailbox was stolen.

Nov. 7; 6400 Via de Anzar
A witness saw a woman steal a package delivered by FedEx to a doorstep. The package contained a case of Infamil baby formula. The thief was described as a 5-foot-6-inch, 255-pound black woman in her 30s with black hair.

Nov. 9, 1:30 a.m.; 2300 block of Daladier Drive
A bottle of the prescription medication Leuithroid and $2.50 were stolen from an unlocked vehicle. The victim saw the thief rummaging through the car and confronted him. The thief fled. The thief is described as a 25- to 30-year-old, 6-foot-3-inch, 230-pound black man.
