Palos Verdes Estates Crime: Postal Theft

The following information on Palos Verdes Estates crime was supplied by the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department.

During the week of Aug. 8-14, the made one arrest on suspicion of disturbing the peace, two arrests on suspicion of driving under the influence, one arrest on a traffic offense and one arrest on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale.

Disturbing the peace
1:50 a.m., Aug. 8; 2200 block of Via la Brea
Officers responded a second time to a loud party and issued a "second party response notice." The resident will be billed for the officers' time.

Driving under the influence
3:07 a.m., Aug. 10; intersection of Granvia Altamira and Via Rafael
An officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

1:57 a.m., Aug. 10; intersection of Palos Verdes Drive North and Hawthorne Boulevard
An officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Traffic offense
3:50 p.m., Aug. 12; 100 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
An officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the motorcyclist on suspicion of driving with a suspended license. Additionally, the motorcyclist did not have a motorcycle endorsement.

Possession of marijuana for sales
11:05 p.m., Aug. 13; Paseo del Sol fire road
An officer responded to a noise complaint, and arrested a vehicle passenger on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale. The vehicle's driver and another passenger received citations for breaking curfew and possession of marijuana.

Theft
Aug. 13; 300 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
At some point between Aug. 9 and Aug. 13, someone took a U.S. Postal Service failed delivery notification card from a mailbox. The person forged a signature on the delivery notification card and picked up the package at the post office.
