ARRESTS

Three warrant arrests, one vehicle burglary arrest, six DUI arrests, one possession of drugs and DUI arrest.

INCIDENTS

Residential burglary:

  • 4-6 p.m. May 19, 3000 block of Palos Verdes Drive North. Suspects pried open a sliding doggie door. Unspecified property was reported stolen.
  • 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. May 19, 500 block of Via Alcance. Window louvers were removed. Jewelry was reported stolen.

Vehicle burglary: 11 p.m. May 20 to the morning of May 21, 3400 block of Paseo del Campo. The rear driver's side window was shattered. A Burberry trench coat was reported stolen.

Attempted theft by false pretense: 11 a.m. May 22. The victim was shopping in Torrance when she was approached by the suspect. Under the false pretense of donating money to charity, the suspect asked the victim for a large amount of cash. The victim agreed to drive the suspect to the victim’s bank on Via Tejon and attempted to withdraw the money, but the bank declined the transaction because of the suspicious circumstances. The victim agreed to drive the suspect back to Torrance and later called the police.
