Palos Verdes Crime: Vandalism at PVHS

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and Palos Verdes Estates Police Department supplied this information on crime in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates, Rolling Hills, Westfield and Palos Verdes Estates.

The Palos Verdes Estates Police Department reported the following crimes and arrests in Palos Verdes Estates for the week spanning Dec. 24 through Tuesday. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lomita Station reported the following crimes and arrests in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates and Westfield for the week spanning Dec. 23 through last Saturday.

Palos Verdes Estates

Five people were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and one person was arrested on outstanding warrants.

Dec. 24; 1400 block of Via Cataluna
An unknown person used an object to puncture the left front and rear tires of a vehicle.

Dec. 30, 4:42 p.m.; 600 block of Cloyden Road
Officers were dispatched to Palos Verdes High School to investigate a report of vandalism. Upon arrival, officers found a vandalized vending machine and spray paint on the wall of a building. It is unknown who caused the vandalism.

Driving Under the Influence

Dec. 24, 1:28 a.m.; 3800 block of Palos Verdes Drive North
During a traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.  

Dec. 29, 1:40 a.m.; Intersection of Palos Verdes Drive North and Via Campesina
After responding to a 911 call about a reckless driver, police arrested the driver of the vehicle on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Dec. 29, 2:17 a.m.; Intersection of Palos Verdes Drive North and Via Campesina
During a traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Dec. 29, 3:43 a.m.; Intersection of Victoria and Via Rivera
During a traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Dec. 29, 11:30 p.m.; Intersection of Del Campo and Palos Verdes Drive North
During a traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Warrant Arrest

Dec. 30, 9:11 a.m.; 2500 block of Via Rivera
During a traffic stop, officers arrested the driver on two outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

Rancho Palos Verdes

No arrests were reported during this period.

Burglary

Dec. 23; 3200 block of Paseo Del Mar
An unknown person punched in the lock of a vehicle and stole a purse, credit cards and $300 in cash.

Dec. 24-25; 28600 block of Western Avenue
Someone forced open the rear door of a business and took a computer, security system and $20 in cash.

Dec. 26; 29300 block of Palos Verdes Drive East
Someone stole a backpack with miscellaneous items from a school.

Dec. 29-30; Miraleste Plaza
An unknown person smashed the front glass door of a business and took unknown items.

Vehicle Theft

Dec. 23-24; 5300 block of Middlecrest Road
Someone gained entry to a vehicle via an unlocked door and took a garage remote and cell phone.

Grant Theft

Dec. 24; 29300 block of Western Avenue
An unknown individual stole $1,214 from a purse.

Assault With a Deadly Weapon (Vehicle)

Dec. 25; Intersection of Palos Verdes Drive North and Palos Verdes Drive East
The assault with a vehicle left scratch marks on another vehicle. No further information was provided.

No arrests were reported during this period.

Burglary

Dec. 24, 8:48 a.m.; 2500 block of Palos Verdes Drive North
A suspect described as a 30-year-old black male smashed the bathroom window of a home and took undisclosed items.  

Dec. 25-28; 700 block of Silver Spur Road
An unknown person took a safe and $600 in cash from a business.

Dec. 23-24; Sorrel Lane
Someone broke the kitchen window of a home and proceeded to take a ring, purse, wallet and $300 in cash.

Rolling Hills

No crimes or arrests were reported during this period.

Westfield

No crimes or arrests were reported during this period.
