The Palos Verdes Estates Police Department reported the following crimes and arrests in Palos Verdes Estates for the week spanning Jan. 2 through Tuesday.

Theft

Jan. 2; 300 block of Paseo del Mar
An unknown person entered a locker room and took a phone and wallet from a victim's pants then left the area.

Jan. 6; 1400 block of Paseo la Cresta
Sometime between Dec. 21 and Jan. 6, an unknown person gained entrance to a house with the intent to have "gatherings." During the course of the gatherings, the person took money from the residence.

Identity Theft

Jan. 2; 2200 block of Via Anacapa
Someone stole a wallet, removed all cash and credit cards then discarded the wallet. Someone then used those credit cards and the victim's identity to obtain a cash advance from the victim's bank.   

Jan. 3; 1600 block of Granvia Altamira
An unknown person used a fradulent email address to gain access to a victim's bank account information and withdrew money from the account.

Attempted Burglary

Jan. 3; 3400 block of Paseo del Campo
Someone used a rock to smash a glass door of a residence. The unknown person was apparently injured in the process and fled the scene in an unknown direction without gaining access to the residence.

Possession of Drugs

Jan. 4, 1:05 a.m.; 2500 block of Via Pinale
Officers responding to complaints of a loud party issued a juvinile a citation for allegedly possessing concentrated cannabis.

Fire

Jan. 4, 8:43 a.m.; Intersection of Via Visalia and Punta Place
An officer responded to a trash truck that was on fire and assisted in extinguishing the fire until firefighters arrived on the scene.

Residential Burglary

Jan. 5; 1800 block of Via Olivera
Sometime between Jan. 2 and Jan. 5, an unknown person broke the window of a residence, gained entry and removed property from the home.

Forgery

Jan. 5; Malaga Cove Plaza
Someone obtained a victim's checking account information by unknown means and tried to cash a fraudulent check with the victims account information. 

Residential Construction Site Burglary

Jan. 6, 8:30 p.m.; 700 block of Horcada Place
Two unknown persons cut a hole in metal construction fencing surrounding a house and entered the property. The unidentified persons then slid open an unlocked glass door before being observed by a security guard. The suspects then fled the scene through the hole in the fence.
