Palos Verdes Crime: Throwing Fruit at Windows

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and Palos Verdes Estates Police Department supplied this information on crime in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates, Rolling Hills, Westfield and Palos Verdes Estates.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lomita Station reported the following crimes and arrests in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates and Westfield for the week spanning April 7 through Saturday. The Palos Verdes Estates Police Department reported the following crimes and arrests in Palos Verdes Estates for the week spanning April 7 through last Monday.

Palos Verdes Estates

Vandalism

April 7, 5:15 p.m.; 5300 block of Bayridge Road
Someone threw fruit at a home's living room window causing the glass to break. The person or persons then fled in an unknown direction.

Residential Burglary

April 13, 10:50 p.m.; 900 block of Via Anita
Someone posed as a utility worker from Southern California Edison and knocked on the front door of a resident. The fake utility worker then lured the homeowner into the backyard while additional unknown individuals entered the victim's residence and took property from the home before fleeing.

April 12; 4100 block of Via Nivel
Someone entered a residence by prying open a locked side window and then proceeded to ransack the home. The person or persons then exited the residence through the front door.

April 13; 2900 block of Via Alvarado
Between 5:45 p.m. and 9 p.m., someone forced open a bathroom window to a home, ransacked the residence and removed property from the house without the victim's knowledge or consent.

April 14; 2100 block of Thorley Road
Sometime between 10 a.m. and 8:45 p.m., someone attempted to force open a kitchen window to gain entry to a home. While doing so, the home's security alarm was activated causing the person or persons to flee the area.

April 14; 2400 block of Via Carrillo
Someone pried open a locked side window to a residence, entered the home and proceeded to ransack and take items from the home before leaving through the front door.

April 14; 2100 block of Via Rivera
Sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., someone entered a residence through an unlocked door, searched various areas of the home then took jewelry along with coats and jackets.

Traffic Offense

April 8, 2:35 p.m.; Cloyden Road and Dalton Road
During a traffic stop, officers arrested the driver of the vehicle on suspicion of driving without a license.  

April 9, 10:10 a.m.; 2100 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
During a traffic stop, officers arrested the driver of the vehicle on an outstanding warrant.

April 11, 11:33 p.m.; 600 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
During a traffic stop, officers arrested the driver of the vehicle on suspicion of driving with a suspended license.

April 12, 12:36 p.m.; 2200 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
During a traffic stop, officers arrested the driver of the vehicle on suspicion of driving with a suspended license and on an outstanding warrant.

Possession of Controlled Substance

April 9, 1:25 a.m.; 800 block of Paseo Del Mar
While investigating a parking violation, officers arrested the driver and passenger of the vehicle on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Vehicle Theft

April 9; 100 block of Via Jose
Someone entered an unlocked vehicle and took a laptop from it before fleeing.

Grand Theft Auto

April 10; Intersection of Paseo del Mar and Via Arroyo
Sometime between 1:35 p.m. and 3:50 p.m., someone entered an locked vehicle by using the victim's hidden key and took the vehicle without consent. The vehicle was later recovered half a mile away with a cell phone, credit cards and drivers license missing.

Rancho Palos Verdes

One person was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment, one on suspicion of driving under the influence, one individual on suspicion of battery on school property, one person on suspicion of possession of a shopping cart and one individual on suspicion of domestic violence.

Aggravated Assault - Domestic Violence

April 7, 5:15 p.m.; 5300 block of Bayridge Road
A suspect was arrested on suspicion of aggrivated assault in an alleged domestic violence incident.

Aggravated Assault - Child Abuse

April 13, 12:00 p.m.; 28500 block of Radbrook Court
A suspect was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault in an alleged child abuse incident.

Petty Theft

April 7, 7:10 a.m.; 26500 block of Rochhurst Lane
A suspect allegedly took a tape player from an unlocked vehicle. The suspect is described as a white male, 20-25 years of age, 6 feet tall and 170-180 pounds. Suspect was said to have fled in a grad Honda two-door van.

April 8-9; 26600 block of Honey Creek Road
Someone entered a parked unlocked vehicle and took a cell phone, gift cards, car chargers and $6 in currency.

April 9, 3:30 p.m.; 28900 block of Western Avenue
A suspect entered an open business and allegedly took two pairs of Vans red and black shoes.

Residential Burglary

April 8; 28800 block of Crestridge Road
Someone entered a residence through unknown means and took check books and a car key. A black pickup truck was seen near the residence before the burglary.

April 8, 1:30 p.m.; 27400 block of Warrior Road
Someone broke into the garage of a home through a side door but nothing was taken from the residence.

April 11; 5600 block of Ravenspur Drive
Someone entered a residence through the front door of the home and took costume jewelry and $100 in cash.

Grand Theft

April 9-10; 1900 block of Toscanini Drive
Someone took a chop saw, drills, router tool, jig saw, cordless skill saw, spray paint machine, blower, hand tools, cutting tools and measurement tools.

Rolling Hills

No arrests occurred during this period.

Petty Theft

April 9-11; Eastfield Drive
Someone took a walker from an garage with its door left open.

Westfield

No arrests occurred during this period.

Petty Theft

April 6-9; 26300 block of Crenshaw Boulevard
Someone took miscellaneous plastic bottles from a business.

 

Rolling Hills Estates

No crimes or arrests were reported during this period.
