Palos Verdes Crime: Stolen Hot Wheels Cars

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and Palos Verdes Estates Police Department supplied this information on crime in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates, Rolling Hills, Westfield and Palos Verdes Estates.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lomita Station reported the following crimes and arrests in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates and Westfield for the week spanning March 3 through March 9. The Palos Verdes Estates Police Department reported the following crimes and arrests in Palos Verdes Estates for the week spanning March 3 through last Monday.

Palos Verdes Estates

Four people were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, one person on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia and burglary tools and one person on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

March 11; 2800 block of Via Neve
Someone used a victim's social security number to complete the victim's tax return without authorization.

March 6; 4000 block of Via Opata
Sometime between 6 p.m. and 10 a.m., someone entered an unsecured vehicle parked in a driveway, removed property and fled in an unknown direction.

Warrant Arrest

March 7, 8:50 a.m.; 1500 block of Via Zurita
Officers made contact with a person and arrested him on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

Driving Under the Influence

March 6, 1:00 a.m.; 3100 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
During a traffic stop, officers arrested the driver of the vehicle on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

March 6, 11:00 p.m.; 200 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
During a traffic stop, officers arrested the driver of the vehicle on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

March 8, 1:45 p.m.; Intersection of Via Arroyo and Via Almar
During a traffic stop, officers arrested the driver of the vehicle on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

March 9, 6:00 a.m.; 600 block of Via Del Monte
Officers responded to a traffic collision in which a vehicle collided with a tree. The driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and was transported to the hospital due to neck pain.

Drugs

March 8, 11:55 p.m.; 2200 block of Via Rosa
During a security check, officers contacted the occupants of a parked vehicle and arrested the passenger on suspicion of possession of burglary tools and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Criminal Threat

March 9, 5:00 p.m.; 1500 block of Via Lazo
Officers responded to a criminal threat report where a named suspect was allegedly making threatening statements regarding a civil dispute.

No arrests occurred during this time period.

Residential Burglary

Feb. 2 - March 4; 1400 block of Toscanini Drive
Someone entered a residence, possibly by prying open a sliding glass door, and took a gold table clock and 25 collectible hot wheels toy cars.

March 6; 4000 block of Miraleste Drive
An unknown person entered a residence through an unlocked garage door and took a Vizio plasma television, $500 in cash, gold and silver coins, a 9mm handgun, savings bond checks and jewelry.

Petty Theft

March 4-5; 29300 block of Palos Verdes Drive East
Someone stole round steel plates. No further information was available.

Feb. 28 - March 6; 6500 block of Sandy Point Court
Someone used a victim's prepaid card without authorization.

March 8; 28000 block of Montereina Drive
Someone stole a cell phone and $5 in cash.

Vehicle Burglary

March 7; 29300 block of Hawthorne Boulevard
An unknown person smashed the front passenger side window of a vehicle and took a purse containing $10 and miscellaneous papers. The purse was later recovered in a nearby parking lot.

Someone smashed a window of a vehicle and too a red purse containing a wallet, drivers license, credit card, cell phone and $20 in cash.

March 7; Seacove Drive/Coastside Drive
Someone smashed the rear passenger side window of a vehicle and took a Louis Vuitton wallet, $600 in cash, an iPhone and drivers license.

Attempted Burglary

March 7, 10:50 p.m.; 5700 block of Palos Verdes Drive South
An unknown person smashed the window of a vehicle but took nothing from it.

No arrests occurred during this period.

Petty Theft

March 9, 9:45 a.m.; 26900 block of Rolling Hills Road
Someone took a purse containing a drivers license and $185 in cash.

Rolling Hills

No crimes or arrests occurred during this period.

Westfield

No crimes or arrests occurred during this period.
