Palos Verdes Crime: School Snacks Stolen

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and Palos Verdes Estates Police Department supplied this information on crime in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates, Rolling Hills, Westfield and Palos Verdes Estates.

The reported the following crimes and arrests in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates and Westfield for the week spanning Sept. 2 through last Saturday. The reported the following crimes and arrests in Palos Verdes Estates for the week spanning Sept. 4 through last Tuesday.

This week's incidents include a shower head burglar, stolen beef jerky, stolen snacks from a school and reports of Chevrolet Tahoe third-row seats being stolen from vehicles.

Palos Verdes Estates

Police arrested one person on suspicion of a traffic offense, two people on suspicion of driving under the influence, three people on warrants, and one person on suspicion of methamphetamine possession and evading arrest.

Traffic Offense

Sept. 6, 1:39 p.m., 300 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
A driver was arrested by police during a traffic stop on suspicion of driving without a valid license.

Driving Under the Influence

Sept. 7, 2:19 a.m., Intersection of Varmouth Road and Palos Verdes Drive West
Police arrested a driver during a traffic stop on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Sept. 9, 3:10 a.m., 4400 block of Via Valmonte
The driver of a vehicle involved in a traffic collision was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Possession of Methamphetamine

Sept. 10, 1:50 p.m., 300 block of Paseo del Mar
Officers arrested a man that was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine outside of a business. Police say the man also evaded arrest. This is the second case of methamphetamine possession on the same stretch of street in the past two weeks.

Warrant Arrest

Sept. 11, 10:10 p.m., Intersection of Via Chino and Paseo del Mar
While conducting a parking violation inquiry, officers arrested a man on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

Rancho Palos Verdes

Police arrested one person on suspicion of battery, two people on weapons charges, one on suspicion of domestic violence, one on suspicion of driving with false license plates, two people on suspicion of shoplifting and one person on drug charges.

Shoplifting

Sept. 2, 30000 block of Hawthorne Boulevard
Two suspects were arrested on suspicion of stealing two cases of beer from a business. The cases of beer were recovered during the arrest.

Residential Burglary

Sept. 1-5, 27100 block of Mesaba Drive
Someone broke into a vacant house that was under renovation and stole a shower head.

Commercial Burglary

Sept. 6, 6:19 p.m., 28500 block Western Avenue
A 25-year-old white male allegedly stole a pack of beef jerky by tucking the package under his sweater and walking out of the store.

Grand Theft

Sept. 8-9, 30500 block of Ganado Drive
Three rims and three tires were stolen from a residential street.

Petty Theft (Vehicle)

Sept. 8-9, 32600 Block of Nantasket Drive
Someone stole a car stereo, iPod and women's shoulder bag from a vehicle on a residential street.

School Burglary

Sept. 7-10, 5600 block of Crestridge Drive
Someone broke into a school along Crestridge Drive and stole an assortment of children's snacks.

Rolling Hills Estates

Deputies arrested one individual on drug charges.

Petty Theft

Sept. 4, 27100 block of Silver Spur Road
Someone stole an iPhone.

Vehicle Burglary

Sept. 6, 500 block of Deep Valley Drive
Someone punched in the driver's side door and stole two third-row seats from a Chevrolet Tahoe.

Rolling Hills

No crimes or arrests were reported.

Westfield

No crimes or arrests were reported.
