Palos Verdes Crime: Porta-Potty Set On Fire

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and Palos Verdes Estates Police Department supplied this information on crime in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates, Rolling Hills, Westfield and Palos Verdes Estates.

The Palos Verdes Estates Police Department reported the following crimes and arrests in Palos Verdes Estates for the week spanning Dec. 3 through Tuesday. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lomita Station reported the following crimes and arrests in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates and Westfield for the week spanning Dec. 2 through last Saturday. 

This week's police blotter includes a portable toilet being set on fire and stolen silverware.

Rancho Palos Verdes

Three individuals were arrested on suspicion of burglary and two people were arrested on drug charges.

Arson

Dec. 2, 10:50 a.m.; 5500 block of Ironwood Street
Someone set clothing on fire but no further damage or information was reported.

Dec. 2, 11:50 a.m.; 5500 block of Ironwood Street
A portable restroom was set on fire by an unknown person. No further information was available.

Petty Theft

Dec. 5; 1900 block of Redondela Drive
Someone took a package from a residence which contained a women's necklace.

Dec. 4-5; 6500 block of Beachview Drive
An unknown person took an iPod, charging cord and a ladies jacket from a vehicle parked in a residential parking lot.

Dec. 7; 5600 block of Mistridge Road
Someone took a piece of wood that was being used as a ramp from a home's backyard.

Rolling Hills Estates

No arrests were reported during this time.

Burglary (Shoplifting)

Dec. 6; Peninsula Center
A known suspect allegedly attempted to steal two bottles of liquor from a store but was confronted by a loss prevention employee and fled the scene. The two bottles were recovered.

Grand Theft Auto

Dec. 6; 500 block of Deep Valley Drive
A silver 2006 Chevy Tahoe was stolen by an unknown person from a business parking lot.

Palos Verdes Estates

Four people were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and three individuals were arrested on outstanding warrants.

Residential Burglary

Dec. 4, 11:16 a.m.; 1600 block of Espinosa Circle
Someone entered a residence and removed property without the victim's knowledge or permission.

Dec. 5, 9:15 p.m.; 3700 block of Via La Selva
Someone entered the garage of a residence, took a mountain bike and fled the scene.

Dec. 7; 500 block of Via Almar
Sometime in the past two years, someone took silverware from a dining room cabinet of a residence without the owner's permission and fled the scene undetected.

Driving Under the Influence

Dec. 5, 11 p.m.; Intersection of Via Navajo and Via La Selva
During a traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Dec. 6, 10:49 p.m.; 1900 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
During a traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Dec. 8, 1:40 a.m.; 2300 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
During a traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Dec. 8, 3:15 a.m.; 3100 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
During a traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Warrant Arrests

Dec. 6, 2:30 a.m.; Los Angeles
PVE police officers were dispatched to Los Angeles in reference to a suspicious person and took the individual into custody on outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants.

Dec. 6, 6:43 a.m.; 1100 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
During an investigation into a suspicious person, officers arrested the individual on two outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

Dec. 9, 9:15 a.m.; 300 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
An officer arrested an individual on an active arrest warrant.

Rolling Hills

No crimes or arrests were reported during this time.

Westfield

No crimes or arrests were reported during this time.
