Palos Verdes Crime: Pillow Case Theft

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and Palos Verdes Estates Police Department supplied this information on crime in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates, Rolling Hills, Westfield and Palos Verdes Estates.

The reported the following crimes and arrests in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates and Westfield for the week spanning Aug. 19 through last Saturday. The reported the following crimes and arrests in Palos Verdes Estates for the week spanning Aug. 22 through last Tuesday.

Palos Verdes Estates

Officers arrested two people on warrants, two people on suspicion of driving under the influence and one person on suspicion of a traffic offense.

2:18 a.m., Aug. 22; 2600 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
An officer approached adults seated on a curb and arrested a woman on an outstanding warrant.

Theft

Aug. 22; 2700 block of Paseo Del Mar
Someone stole a lawnmower, weed-eater and hedge trimmer from the victim's pickup truck and fled.

Driving under the influence

2:20 a.m., Aug. 24; intersection of Palos Verdes Drive West or Via Corta
An officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended license.

10:45 p.m., Aug. 26; 2600 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
An officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Possession of stolen property and drugs

1:35 a.m., Aug. 25; intersection of Palos Verdes Drive West and Cloyden Road
An officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver on an outstanding felony warrant and the passenger on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine. Both the driver and the passenger were also arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen debit cards and identity theft.

Traffic offense

8:44 a.m., Aug. 25; intersection of Via Campesina and Via Corta
An officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver on suspicion of driving with a suspended license.

Forgery

Aug. 25; 1600 block of Via Arriba
Police are investigating a housekeeper-nanny on suspicion of forgery. Police believe the nanny, whose identity was not released, stole checks from the victim's house, forged the victim's signature and cashed the checks.

Dog incident

10:50 a.m., Aug. 26; 2400 block of Palos Verdes Drive North
Someone was bitten twice on the leg by a leashed dog.

Vehicle burglary

Aug. 28; 1800 block of Via Arriba
Someone stole a wallet from an unlocked Ford truck, then stole the victim's other car, a Lexus coupe that was also unlocked. The Lexus was abandoned a short distance away. No arrest was made.

Rancho Palos Verdes

Deputies arrested one person on suspicion of driving under the influence, two people on suspicion of vehicle law violations, one person on suspicion of domestic violence and one person on suspicion of making criminal threats.

Vehicle burglary

Aug. 19; 2700 block of San Ramon Drive
Someone used an unknown method of entry to steal a GPS unit from a parked vehicle.

Aug. 19; 200 block of Avenida Feliciano
A golf bag, golf clubs, a hand cart and a cable were stolen from a parked vehicle. Deputies are unsure how the perpetrator got into the car.

Aug. 22; 1900 block of Redondela Drive
An iPod, flight bag, camera, transceiver, sunglasses, knee board, flint and cards were stolen from a parked car. Deputies are unsure how the perpetrator got into the car.

Aug. 23; 1700 block of Westmont Drive
Someone smashed the rear driver's side window of a car parked next to a park and stole a purse containing a driver's license, checkbooks, $160 in cash and multiple credit cards.

Residential burglary

Aug. 22; 4400 block of Miraleste Drive
A burglar pried open a home's locked front door and stole a safe, paperwork, wooden boxes, coins and a pillow case.

Grand theft

Aug. 21; 6600 block of Via Siena
The top vase attachment to a water fountain was stolen. Deputies have no suspects.

Rolling Hills

No crimes or arrests were reported.

Rolling Hills Estates

Deputies arrested on person on suspicion of driving under the influence. No crimes were reported.

Westfield

No crimes or arrests were reported.
