Palos Verdes Crime: Meth Possession, Cliff Rescue

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and Palos Verdes Estates Police Department supplied this information on crime in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates, Rolling Hills, Westfield and Palos Verdes Estates.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lomita Station reported the following crimes and arrests in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates and Westfield for the week spanning Feb. 17 through last Saturday. The Palos Verdes Estates Police Department reported the following crimes and arrests in Palos Verdes Estates for the week spanning Feb. 19 through last Monday.

Palos Verdes Estates

Three people were arrested on warrants, one on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and two on suspicion of DUI.

Cliff Incident

Feb. 20, 3:20 p.m.; Intersection of Paseo del Mar and Avon Road
PVE police officers responded to the area to assist the Los Angeles County Fire Department with a cliff rescue.

Traffic Stop

Feb. 20, 9:32 a.m.; 1200 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
During a traffic stop, officers arrested the driver of the vehicle on suspicion of driving with a suspended license.

Theft

Feb. 21; 4000 block of Via Picaposte
Someone entered six unlocked vehicles parked in a residential driveway and removed property from them before fleeing in an unknown direction.

Possession of Methamphetamine

Feb. 22, 1:22 a.m.; Intersection of Via Valmonte and Lucera Circle
During a traffic stop officers arrested the driver of the vehicle on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and the passenger on an outstanding warrant.

Warrant Arrest

Feb. 22, 9:41 a.m.; 1000 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
During a traffic stop, the driver of a vehicle was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant

Feb. 22, 10:30 a.m.; Malaga Cove Plaza
During a traffic stop, the driver of a vehicle was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant

Feb. 25, 9:25 a.m.; 1400 block of Paseo del Mar
During a traffic stop, the passenger of a vehicle was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant

Burglary

Feb. 22, 1500 block of Granvia Altamira
Sometime between 11:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m., someone entered a residence through an unlocked side window, ransacked the home and left with some of the owner's property before fleeing.

Feb. 25, 6:03 p.m.; 50 block of Malaga Cove Plaza
Someone gained access to a locked office and photographed client information cards that were being kept in a file cabinet.

Identity Theft

Feb. 23, 10:30 p.m.; 300 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
Someone obtained a victim's debit card information through unknown means and used it to make multiple purchases.

Feb. 25, 1:19 p.m.; 300 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
Someone used a victim's debit card information to fraudulently buy items at a grocery store after the victim left her personal information in the electronic payment service.

Vandalism

Feb. 23, 10:30 p.m.; 300 block of Paseo del Mar
Someone threw glass bottles at the Palos Verdes Beach and Athletic Club causing damage to a table.

DUI Traffic Collision

Feb. 24, 7:10 a.m.; Intersection of Campesina and Rolling Ridge Road
The driver of a vehicle that allegedly involved in a traffic collision was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Suspicious Person

Feb. 24, 3:20 p.m.; 2500 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
A female suspect allegedly went to the door of a residence and asked for cigarettes and money but would not leave when asked. Officers found the female and transported her to Harbor UCLA Medical Center for psychiatric evaluation.

Driving Under the Influence

Feb. 25, 1:57 a.m.; 300 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
During a traffic stop, officers arrested the driver of the vehicle on suspicion of driving without a license, providing false identification and allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.

Rancho Palos Verdes

One person was arrested on suspicion of trespassing. 

Petty Theft

Feb. 15, 11:30 p.m.; 28800 block of Palos Verdes Drive East
Someone stole an iPhone 5 cell phone. Suspect is described as a black female, 21-26 years of age, 145-150 pounds in weight with curly hair.

Feb. 20-21; 28100 block of Ambergate Drive
Somone entered an unlocked vehicle and took $31 in cash.

Feb. 20-21; 6900 block of Hedgewood Drive
An unknown person entered an unlocked car and took $5 in cash from it.

Feb. 20-21; 7000 block of Hedgewood Drive
An unknown person entered an unlocked car and took $4 in cash from it.

Attempted Burglary

Feb. 19, 29200 block of South Bayend Drive
Someone removed the screen to a bathroom of a residence but did not take any property from inside the home.

Feb. 19-20; 2000 block of Macarthur Street
Pry marks were found on the outside of a garage but no property was stolen from it.

Feb. 20-21; 2000 block of Macarthur Street
Someone tampered with the side door of a garage but did not take any property from the garage.

Burglary

Feb. 18-20; 6500 block of Via Colinita
Someone cut the back screen door of a home and proceeded to take a Bose stereo from the home.

Feb. 20-21; 28100 block of San Nicholas Drive
An unknown person gained entry to a vehicle from a rear door and proceeded to take luggage, a backpack, GPS, cell phone and a pocket knife.

Feb. 21; 28800 block of Western Avenue
Someone cut the padlock to a shed and took volleyballs and a ball cart.

Feb. 21-24; 4100 block of Miraleste Drive
An unknown person entered a residence through an unlocked bedroom window and took silver utensils, an iPod, yellow gold amethyst, Canon camera and a bag.

Grand Theft

Dec. 4 - Feb. 22; 6500 block of Sattes Drive
Someone took a yellow gold ring and diamond wedding band.

No arrests occurred during this period.

Petty Theft

Feb. 20-21; 5200 block of Kingspine Road
An unknown person entered an unlocked vehicle and took a Nintendo DS and a GPS from the vehicle.

Grand Theft Auto

Feb. 11-21; 3600 block of Estates Lane
A red 2002 Honda CBR-600 motorcycle was stolen by an unknown person.

Rolling Hills

No crimes or arrests occurred during this period.

Westfield

No crimes or arrests occurred during this period.
