Palos Verdes Crime: Grandmother Pushed Down

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and Palos Verdes Estates Police Department supplied this information on crime in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates, Rolling Hills, Westfield and Palos Verdes Estates.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lomita Station reported the following crimes and arrests in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates and Westfield for the week spanning Sept. 23 through last Saturday. The Palos Verdes Estates Police Department reported the following crimes and arrests in Palos Verdes Estates for the week spanning Sept. 19 through last Tuesday.

This week's police reports include a suspect pushing a grandmother to the ground, a dog attack and stolen stone slate.

Palos Verdes Estates

Police arrested four people on warrants, two people on suspicion of drug possession, one individual for alleged vandalism, one on suspicion of brandishing a weapon, one on suspicion of attempted vehicle burglary, and one person on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Vandalism

Sept. 27, 1:00 p.m., 2200 block of Via Fernandez
Police arrested someone on suspicion of damaging the inside of a residence and  pushing an elderly grandmother to the ground before fleeing the scene. The suspect later returned to the home and was arrested by police.

Dog Incident

Sept. 25, 6:20 a.m., intersection of Chelsea Road and Via Pena
A black and tan Doberman dog ran after a man while he was jogging and bit the man's rear, left thigh. The owner of the dog called off the dog immediately. No medical attention was sought.

Warrant Arrests

Sept. 25, 10:16 a.m., 1700 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
A driver was arrested during a traffic stop on an outstanding warrant and on suspicion of driving without a license.

Sept. 27, 4:30 p.m., intersection of Epping Road and Thorley Road
During a welfare check of a pedestrian in the roadway, officers arrested a man on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

Sept. 27, 11:15 p.m., Paseo del Sol (Fire Road)
During a security check of the fire road, an officer arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant.

Oct. 1, 1:44 a.m., 300 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
An officer was detailed to Hermosa Beach Police Department for a warrant pick up.

Possession of Marijuana, Methamphetamine and Ecstasy

Sept. 26, 8:50 a.m., 900 block of Via Rincon
An officer approached an illegally-parked vehicle and arrested the occupant on suspicion of possession of marijuana, methamphetamine and ecstasy.

Possession of Cocaine and Marijuana for Sale

Sept. 28, 1:37 a.m., Palos Verdes Drive West and Via Montemar
During a traffic stop, officers arrested a driver and his two passengers on suspicion of possession and transportation of cocaine and marijuana with intent to sell.

Brandishing a Weapon

Sept. 29, 3:12 p.m., 2800 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
A police officer observed two drivers arguing with each other. According to the officer, one of the drivers took out a knife. The driver was then arrested by the officer on suspicion of brandishing a weapon.

Vehicle Burglary/Possession of Stolen Property

Sept. 29, 6:35 p.m., Palos Verdes Drive North and Via Colusa
Officers were dispatched to a possible attempted burglary of a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers arrested the suspect on suspicion of trying to enter a locked vehicle and possession of stolen property.

Driving Under the Influence

Sept. 30, 1:41 a.m., Via Valmonte and Via Alcance
During a traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Burglary

Oct. 1, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., 2300 block of Via Olivera
At least one person entered a residence through an unlocked door and proceeded to ransack the bedrooms. The culprits also stole property before leaving the residence.

Rancho Palos Verdes

Deputies arrested one individual on suspicion of assault.

Petty Theft

Sept. 23, 4:20 p.m., Clipper Road
An altercation between a father and his adopted son lead to the son allegedly stealing $40 from the father.

Sept. 24-25, 28500 block of Robinview
A vehicle was broken into and a purse, credits cards, an I.D. and $400 in cash were stolen.

July 1 - Sept. 25, 3000 block of Crownview
Someone took stone slate from a home sometime between July and September of this year.

Residential Burglaries

Sept. 26, 5:30 p.m., 26400 block of Silver Spur Road
A burglar removed a window screen, entered a residence and took a desktop computer and and LCD television.

Sept. 28, 28600 block of Quail Hill
Someone entered a residence by removing a window screen and stole jewelry and an iPad.

Rolling Hills Estates

No arrests were reported during this period.

Grand Theft

April 15 - Sept. 25, Pepper Tree Lane
Three expensive men's watches were stolen between April and September of this year.

Westfield

No arrests were reported during this period.

Grand Theft Auto

Sept. 24-25, 4200 block of Rousseau
A blue 2010 Volkswagen Routan van was stolen from the driveway of a residence.

Vehicle Burglary

Sept. 28, 6:15 a.m., 3600 block of Estates
Two suspects smashed the window of a car and allegedly stole a purse, Taser, $40 in cash, a check, credit cards and driver's license. Both suspects are described as white females, 20-25 years of age with blond hair.

Rolling Hills

No crimes or arrests were reported.
