Palos Verdes Crime: Doggy Door Burglary

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and Palos Verdes Estates Police Department supplied this information on crime in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates, Rolling Hills, Westfield and Palos Verdes Estates.

The Palos Verdes Estates Police Department reported the following crimes and arrests in Palos Verdes Estates for the week spanning Nov. 20 through Nov. 26. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lomita Station reported the following crimes and arrests in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates and Westfield for the week spanning Nov. 18 through last Saturday. 

This week's police blotter includes a report of someone breaking into a home via a doggy door and stolen vitamins from a store.

Rancho Palos Verdes

No arrests occurred during this time.

Burglary (Residential)

Nov. 22; 4200 block of Miraleste Drive
Someone forced open the side door of a residence and took unknown items.

Nov. 24; 27000 block of Silver Moon Lane
An unknown individual entered a home through a rear "doggie door" and took a laptop, safe and jewelry from the residence.

Petty Theft

Nov. 21; 6700 block of Los Verdes Drive
Someone took a filebox containing personal documents from a residence.

Palos Verdes Estates

Four individuals were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, one person was arrested on suspicion of possession of meth for sale and one person was arrested on suspicion of drug paraphernalia.

Identity Theft

Nov. 20; 300 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
Unknown persons accessed a victim's email and bank account by unknown means and made unauthorized transactions.

Nov. 20; 900 block of Apsley Road
Someone used the victim's Macy's charge account without the victim's permission.

Nov. 21; 300 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
Someone used a person's name to make online purchases without the victim's knowledge or authorization.

Possession of Methamphetamine for Sale

Nov. 20, 9:39 p.m.; 900 block of Granvia Altamira
During a traffic stop an officer arrested the driver on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell.

Driving Under the Influence

Nov. 21, 11:35 p.m.; Intersection of Palos Verdes Drive North and Via Campesina
During a traffic stop, an officer arrested the driver of the vehicle on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Nov. 24, 3:09 a.m.; 1500 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
During a traffic stop, an officer arrested the driver of the vehicle on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Nov. 24, 4:34 a.m.; 1500 block of Via Zurita
During a traffic stop, an officer arrested the driver of the vehicle on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. The officer also arrested one of the passengers on suspicion of public intoxication.

Nov. 25, 2:00 a.m.; 100 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
During a traffic stop, an officer arrested the driver of the vehicle on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Drug Paraphernalia

Nov. 22, 1:27 a.m.; 4000 block of Via Valmonte
An officer issued misdemeanor citations to two subjects for alleged possession of drug paraphernalia.

Vandalism

Nov. 25; 1600 block of Paseo Del Mar
Someone used an unknown object to break the left portion of a vehicle's front windshield then fled the area undetected.

Rolling Hills Estates

One person was arrested on suspicion of petty theft.

Petty Theft

Nov. 21, 12:20 p.m.; Peninsula Center
A suspect allegedly stole a bottle of glucosamine from a supermarket in the Peninsula Center. The glucosamine was recovered.

Rolling Hills

No crimes or arrests were reported during this period.

Westfield

No crimes or arrests were reported during this period.
