Missing RPV Man's Car Found in Glendale
Police continue to search for 57-year-old Yoshiya Watanabe. His car was found by a hiker Sunday afternoon.
A car belonging to Yoshiya Watanabe, 57, of Rancho Palos Verdes, was found abandoned on a dirt road directly between Chevy Chase Canyon and Scholl Canyon Road, Glendale, sparking a search of the area for the missing man.
Watanabe's car was found by a hiker and reported to Glendale Police Sunday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. A search continued until midnight.
Deployment of Glendale Police and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department personnel began early Monday morning in a search of the entire area. Additional responders are also searching the canyons and surrounding areas.

Watanabe was last seen at his residence in Rancho Palos Verdes at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 3. He does suffer from memory loss. He was driving a 2004 Mercedes S-500, dark grey, license #5HTX665.
He was last seen wearing blue plaid pajama bottoms, a blue T-shirt with yellow accents, a black zippered wool jacket with "USA" on left chest area and white "Nike" athletic shoes.
