Man's Fatal Stab Wounds Self-Inflicted, Police Say
Authorities are investigating a stabbing death that occurred early Tuesday morning in Rancho Palos Verdes.
A man found dead early Tuesday morning in a Rancho Palos Verdes home apparently suffered a self-inflicted stab wound during a domestic dispute with his wife, investigators said Tuesday.

The wife of John Luis Deprizzo, 40, called 911 about 1 a.m. to report domestic violence at the home in the 5900 block of Flambeau Road. deputies later found Deprizzo dead inside.

The couple's seven-year-old daughter and four-year-old son were also at the home, deputies said. The wife and son walked out of the house when deputies arrived, according to a Sheriff's Department statement. The girl was found inside with her father. Neither of the children were hurt and both were taken into protective custody.
The wife was taken to a nearby hospital after suffering head trauma and other minor injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

A handgun and a butcher knife were found inside the home. Investigators said the cause of Deprizzo's death was still unknown, but have called the incident a "stabbing death investigation" in press releases.
