The Lunada Bay Little League is now offering a $2,500 reward for information that could lead police to thieves who broke into its Palos Verdes Estates snack shack and equipment shed Saturday night and took off with electronics and an all-terrain vehicle.
Originally $500, members of the community provided donations to the league and increased the reward amount, league President Steve Gherardi said in an email.
"The great news so far is how this community has come together from this event," he said. "If nothing else from this horrible theft, it's nice to see how this community will stand behind us and the kids of Lunada Bay Little League."
The doors of the equipment shed and snack shack were pried open by the burglars, league officials said. Stolen items included the all-terain vehicle used for field maintenance, and electronics including webcast and game recording equipment. Estimated property loss and damages was estimated at $10,000.
Anyone with information on the burglary is asked to call Gherardi at 310-377-0840 or the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department at 310-378-4211. Gherardi can also be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
