The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lomita Station has a new item in its array of tools: an Emergency Command Post Trailer.

The 26-foot Cargomate "Eliminator" trailer, which was the fruit of about three years of planning and fundraising, is equipped with a 5,500-watt generator, full bathroom, briefing room, air conditioning, awnings, exterior flood lighting, a rear access ramp, a service window on the side and room for a three-person workstation, according to a news release from the Lomita Sheriffs.

The $40,000 cost of the trailer was paid for by the cities of Lomita, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills and Rolling Hills Estates.
